5/13/09 Elissa Wall may have wanted her freedom (finally. it took her long enough after being pregnant with another man's baby to leave. Supposedly another man's baby, DNA?) but she seems to want mad revenge also. The correct man is in jail (Jeffs). The only other person who deserves to be in jail for this travesty is her mother. Her mother should have fought for her no matter what her religous beliefs were. If she couldn't or more likely wouldn't, she should at least have talked to the girl about what to expect on a wedding night, body parts and how babies are made and so on. It might of helped the situation. Under those circumstances of being so unknowing about sex it did surprise me though that Elissa realized that she was pregnant for the first time and was experiencing a first miscarriage. Allen is just as much of a victim in this as she is. But she wants more revenge. He was just as young and innocent of how to behave. He was only doing what he was told also. He should NOT spend a minute in jail. She got what she wanted, just let him go on with his life. She seems very happy in the limelight and not the least bit nervous being the center of attention. Part of me can't help but think she is "keeping sweet" for the cameras. Where i come from having sex with someone under the age of 18 is statatory rape with or without consent. What about Lamont? Elissa brags in her book about their budding romance (while married), sexual relations (while married) and being pregnant all before her 18th birthday. Rape? Could be. Lamont sounds so righteous in video i've seen calling Allen a pedafile for having sex with a 14 year old girl. In Elissa's book Lamont seemed very angry that he had been passed over for a wife. As a believing FLDS member, wouldn't he have done the same thing if the prophet had told him to? Thank you for letting me go on and one. I just had to get this off my chest since reading her book. I feel very very bad about Allen's criminal charges. I hope Allen writes a book someday. I would like to hear more of his side of the story. Elissa did not sound easy to put up with. God Bless him.

Hi Maggie:

I'll be brief. It sounds as if you have just finished reading a piece of opportunistic propaganda, have thoroughly "bought" the story and, as a result, desire to inflict some form of torture on the alleged criminal.

In terms of fair treatment we must remember that these men of the FLDS are being judged according to the laws of man, which guarantees fair treatment of the accused (innocent until proven guilty ring a bell?) and which claims to be superior to the Law -Word of God. So, if anything, you should wish for the men of the FLDS to receive fair treatment as a means by which to prove the superiority of society and it's law. To put it another way, they should receive fair treatment because you think you are better than they are. Prove it.

If you wish to invoke an Old Testament punishment, then lets consider that an eye for an eye indicates fair treatment also, in that the punishment must fit the crime, ie an "eye" for an "eye", and not a life for an eye, etc. However, if we wish to invoke biblical law in this matter we would first need to determine that what these men are alleged to have done is a crime according to God's Law-Word, and then find 2-3 witnesses to the crime, otherwise we have nothing to even discuss. Incidentally, you'll not find prison to even be a form of punishment in God's Law-Word.

I would suggest that you pick one side and stick with it. Do you follow the Law-Word of God or do you prefer the the law of man?

I've just finished reading "Stolen Innocence" and don't believe that Elissa Wall or any of the women and children received any 'fair' treatment at the hands of Allen or Jeffs or her 2nd 'father' Fred or any church elders.

Why should the men of the FLDS receive 'fair' treatment outside of their monopoly? There are still huge numbers of women and children suffering at their hands. An eye for an eye. Put em in prison and let them get raped and see how they like it when they have no voice to help themselves - for years and years. There is a God and He will have the last say!
